Letter from the Vicar Regarding the Coronavirus (Covid 19)

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you at this extremely difficult time for our community, country and indeed for the whole world.

As the challenge of the Coronavirus grips the world, last week we needed to cease public worship and now in the light of H.M.Government’s instruction, churches now need to close their doors for the foreseeable future.

But please be assured that daily prayers and the Mass will continue to be said privately each day. I am hoping that I will be able to stream and record a Sunday Benefice Mass at 10.30am, available live on Facebook and later in the day on Youtube.

I commend to you the use of a booklet ‘Praying at Home’ which includes making an act of spiritual communion, this can be obtained via this link:

If you need pastoral care (prayer, telephone call etc) please contact one of the clergy:

In these much-changed times, we remain a community of faith, hope, love and service. These words from the Letter to the Romans can resonate for us at this time, ‘For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord’.

You will be in my prayers each day and please pray for me.

Father Robert
